RwandAir to resume flights on 1 August 2020

Published on 23rd July 2020

Since the temporary suspension of commercial flights on 21 March 2020, RwandAir, the national airline of Rwanda, has carried out a number of repatriation flights from London Heathrow Airport and Brussels for Rwandan citizens, legal residents and students stranded in the UK.

Flight Directors assisted these repatriation flights during this unprecedented period, by providing reservations and call centre services to facilitate a seamless journey for Rwandan citizens going back to Kigali to connect with their loved ones.

RwandAir will resume flights on 1 August 2020 starting with selective African routes where borders are open, as well as Dubai. More destinations will be added as countries lift travel restrictions.

Schedule of available routes can be found on the RwandAir website.

In preparation for resumption of flights many measures are in place such as: Robots to remind passengers about precautions, wearing of masks inside the Kigali International Airport and onboard aircraft, self-check-in kiosks, temperature screening using thermal imaging cameras, floor and seat markers to practice social distancing, visors on passenger handling desks.
